Everyone knows New York City offers much for the eye to behold. But rather than see it in segments, why not take in the New York City skyline in one spectacular, panoramic view? There are several places where the view in New York will absolutely take your breath away. Here are just a few.

Governor’s Island View

For a face to face view of the Statue of Liberty, check out Governor’s Island. Why see Lady Liberty in part and at an angle, from Manhattan, when you can directly behold her beautiful face? Unless you actually make the trek to the statue itself, this is the closest spot to view her immense beauty.

While there, you can enjoy the sculptures, rent a bike and go riding or enjoy a summer concert. Governor’s Island is a great place to take in a spectacular view as well as relax and play.

Empire State Building View

While no longer the tallest building in New York, it is still one of the most famous. And there’s a good reason. The observation floors of the Empire State Building allow you to behold one of the finest panoramic skylines of New York City available. But that’s not all: when the air is clear, you can actually see as far as New Jersey, Connecticut, and even Pennsylvania. This is an incredible view, at an iconic location. What’s not to love?

Fort Tryon Park View

And for nature lovers, who also love spectacular views, check our Fort Tyson Park, the highest natural spot in the city. You’ll enjoy amazing views of the George Washington Bridge and the Hudson River. And beauty has its roots. The creative force behind Fort Tryon Park, Frederick Olmsted Jr, is the son of the man who designed beautiful Central Park.

Brooklyn Bridge and Promenade View

The Brooklyn Bridge offers spectacular views of the city. Start by taking in the beauty of the bridge itself and the New York Harbor. Then, as you come closer to the promenade, you’ll take in a wonderful display of lower Manhattan.

You can access the Brooklyn Bridge Pedestrian Walk, and this amazing view, at Park Row, near City Hall.

Liberty Helicopters View

Where can you get a better view of the city, than from the air? Liberty Helicopter offers 15-minute flights that will wow both you and your date. You’ll fly over the Empire State Building, Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, and The Chrysler Building. This close-up-experience of the view of NYC is well worth the $150 price tag.

The Top of the Rock View

Many consider the Top of the Rock to be the best spot for New York City panoramic viewing. The Rock’s observation deck has three tiers, allowing you plenty of opportunities to see the highlights of what makes New York City so special: The Hudson River, the Statue of Liberty, the Chrysler Building, and even the Empire State Building.

For views that will take your breath away, check out the Rock at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

And for another spectacular, panoramic view of the New York City skyline, stop by High Bar for chef-inspired small plates and creative, and traditional, cocktails. You’ll be able to see as far as the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Freedom Tower, and the Hudson River. We’re located on the rooftop of the Doubletree at 346 West 40th.
